How to Merge Duplicate Contacts
Have you ever been frustrated by having identical contacts saved twice on your phone, each with a different phone number? Follow the steps outlined below to merge duplicate contacts on your smartphones.
How to Merge Duplicate Contacts on Android/iOS
- First, download the Smart Transfer app from the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
- Launch the app and select the Contacts Manager option.
- Tap “Continue” located at the bottom right corner.
- The Smart Transfer app will ask for permission to access your contact phone book. Allow the app by tapping on the “Grant” option located below.
- You'll see multiple options under the "Manager" menu to carry out any specific task related to managing contacts on your smartphone. Select the “Merge Contacts” option.
- You have the options to merge by, “Name, Number, and Email”.
- Your entire phone book will be scanned by the Smart Transfer app for merging contacts. Once the analyzing process is complete, select contacts you want to merge.
- Select the contacts you want to merge (Name, Number or Email).
- Allow Smart Transfer to merge the selected contacts.
- Once the contacts have been merged, you will see a “Success!” pop-up. Tap on Continue to explore the other Contacts Manager functions.
